Industrial Ink-Jet printers are not controlled with windows drivers like consumer products are.  These printers are typically configured via on-screen displays. Most of the time this print specification can be saved on the printer to be re-used later, but doing so can be cumbersome.  cijConnect allows the end user to connect to multiple printers and utilize a mouse and keyboard to generate the message that will be printed. Once the message is created it can be sent to any of the printers that are being controlled by cijConnect.  

cijConnect can be used as a simple printer controller where the operator selects the message to print from the user interface, or it can act as a print server where data can be selected from a database via remote communications.  Typically, this is done with a barcode scanner, but other options are available for remote control as well.
